Thanks for the links. I shared the early voting graphic today (the start of early voting in Wisconsin).

I wish I could share political information on social media while I am at work but alas, I get into trouble for trying to promote democracy. (see: https://www.rutlandherald.com/news/local/city-school-board-member-claims-intimidation/article_0a990694-bf9c-5f01-b39f-4deaf5b147e9.html)

That being said, I will star this Message Box so I can start my own social media campaign after school is over today. Thank you for the links! I will note that I had the conversation "politics is power" this morning with my A block students (thank you Dr. Kendi and Dan Pfeiffer), so if I get fired this week, at least I know why. Many calls to make before we sleep. On to victory!

talk about welling up and crying -- "We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." Thank you, thank you for the links. Am using them with surgical precision.

I strongly second the Hope over Fear argument. Don't talk about Trump. Disconnected Under-40s have had four straight years of background shouting about how mean/bad/useless/dangerous/evil Trump is, and it has become white noise.

From my posts -- and this is anecdata(ish, is +20k interactions real data?) -- Pro-Biden posts with Zero Trump in them are doing much better right now at getting young people out of 'well I guess I have to vote for Biden' and into 'hey, this guy Biden is actually good'.

I didn't see any Crooked pre-made posts about these topics, so if you're going after disconnected or complacent Under-40s, try bringing up:

1) Student Loan plan - no more taxes owed on forgiven debt, automatic IBR enrollment, IBR rate drops from 10% to 5%, and the 25k leave out. Biden's plan is more than this, but those are the parts that are easily understandable, where we can see the benefit to ourselves and our friends. All of us know someone who has loans that are growing faster than we can pay them, and we're all hopeless about it.

2) Unity Task Force - Biden listened to the Progressives. Most disconnected young voters stopped looking at the news when their fave lost; so the last they heard, Biden was a moderate do-nothing, who hated everything the progressives wanted. They don't know he listened. They don't understand how progressive his policies are today. Two most effective facts so far: Biden has adopted Warren's Bankruptcy restructuring plan word for word. He supports the green new deal, and has folded it into his entire economic plan.

And then follow up with people that reply or comment in disbelief. Jaded isn't a strong enough word for this group. Most of us remember 2000 as a stolen election, and the Obama years as 'even good candidates can't get anything done.' They will doubt it's possible, but they want to believe, so a direct response can be very effective. And anyway, even if you don't convince *them*, other people in their age and social group are reading it too.

Good summary, but one point: you didn't mention the rare quasi-endorsement from the Beastie Boys in the ad you linked!

Fantastic as always, Dan. I do think there's something about empowerment - not just as a concept of hope, but also of responsibility. People can view voting as a choice, or a responsibility, and I suspect there's a large chunk of any population that is disillusioned with voting and clearly choose not to. I'm from a country with compulsory voting, and the idea of not having that civic duty to speak up with a vote is literally a foreign concept. Regardless, empowering people with hope is clearly the way to go. (BTW - the link for the second youtube clip has died.)
