You overlook one very effective, very powerful tool in the Dem toolbox. Grassroots organizers. We have all been conditioned to write postcards and make calls for candidates and voter registration. All could be considered defensive measures to protect or win elections. We could now be deployed on the offense to send periodic, targeted messages about policy differences rather than candidates. I gotta say, if I received a postcard that said, “Hi! Did you know your taxes might/will go up in 2022as a result of the trump tax bill in 2017?” I’d read the postcard. If I got a call that said, “Hi. Just wanted to let you know that your GOP representative/Senator is about to vote against rescuing families and small businesses that are suffering due to the pandemic?” I might listen. These are, by the way, also effective social media ad topics. PS - we can always throw in some voter registration info for good measure. Even on the off years. If I’m Jaime Harrison, I’m looking at how to harness the energy and training of this grassroots army. Higher information voters can only help with fundraising as well. So then you won’t need your non existent billionaire.

"He has two primary jobs: Stop the Biden agenda and help the Republicans retake the Senate majority."

How sad that his primary job isn't to further a Republican agenda on the various challenges facing his constituency and the country.

We are criticized for being weak, also for being too nice. I have barely the stomach for most of this, and not bc I want to be nice to these people. But yes, I am probably typical in being utterly queasy about this and wanting to turn my head. I know we can't. I am sure this is why I am not in politics. This makes most sense of what you said, except that NO ONE EVER LISTENS. "The vast majority of Republican voters have no idea that they are voting for politicians who want to cut their Medicare and Social Security." Its not like we haven't been saying this for forever. People vote against their own interests constantly. Its not logic but emotion I think we are mostly dealing with. Again, I will say to me either Biden does so well that people see past political lines (very possible) OR we fix gerrymandering but til Eric Holder tells me how, I cannot give what money I have. Again, I will say, they fundraise but do not explain strategy. I don't get how to fix. How to give to a national fund when its every legislature for itself yes? Thanks Dan.

BTW, off topic, but does anyone else notice that CNN is no longer covering daily press briefings by Jen Psaki when they were falling all over themselves for 'the former guy' and his pathetic 'press secretary' every time they opened their mouths? Tells me everything I need to know about the so-called 'liberal' MSM.

The plutocrat vs populist division is probably the one which has the most potential in the realm of 'sowing division'.

Trump has no policy agenda and merely reacts to what's raised by others. As we all saw with the 2,000 payments, he is very open to lecturing the Senate Repubs on issues where they are ideologically opposed to voting for the proposal. The message of 'even Trump says the Dems are right' could cause enormous damage to them. It demotivates their marginal voters and undermines McConnell messaging.

Dan, I am hearing different things about redistricting. I heard at one point that the Census was delayed to the point that it may require the same districts to remain and then I heard that some states were moving forward. Do you know where this stands? I am really concerned about the House in 2022.

"McConnell's self-induced political pickle." Dan, you've outdone yourself.❤️

Great insight, Dan! I live in an area where the Democratic Party has been absent for about 20 years. Any suggestions on how to apply this to a local-level and to rebuild the local party in the process?
