Now that we know that's a trigger for Trump, I hope Joe will include the phrase "not smart" into as many responses as possible.

"Frame Biden’s Restraint as Strength"

Yes!

My go-to on FB has been "It was a masterclass in restraint, and it made me respect him more." Hoping if I say it enough, it'll tip SOMEONE into the Biden column.

You mention Facebook so much. Does it really do any good to engage on there? It's terrible, depressing, and full of misinformation. Is there any evidence that our messages get through? Admittedly it feels pointless, but I worry about its power and just handing it over to right wing extremists. So what do you think everyday folks should do on there that might make any difference?

Great insights, Dan. Thank you. Facebook is worse than Fox Propaganda Network because it reaches so many people with the disinformation at all hours of the day and night. I'm glad Biden's Team seems to be taking all the right steps to counter the disinformation as quickly and effectively as possible.

Great insight, Dan, and I especially agree with that last point! Biden showed his character when he defended Hunter against a sickening attack. Since Trump can't process having those feelings toward a son, he probably thought it a devastating zinger, as Adam Serwer wrote in this piece: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/10/what-kind-parent-behaves-like-trump/616561/

I have two questions, stemming from a poll I saw yesterday: CNBC/Change Research had Biden up 54 percent to 41 percent. That looks awesome, but of course I’m skeptical of national polls. Do you think those numbers reflect the trend of traditionally dark red states (Texas, SC, GA) turning to solid light red states? Which, if the case, would be all the same electorally.

And should we fear a silent Trump vote of 4-5 percent? When I see people condemning “both sides” or lamenting “polarization” after Tuesday’s horrific display by the president alone, I realize that only quiet conservatives harbor that attitude. They ARE voting. But are they being factored into these polls right now?

Here's an example – https://twitter.com/AsteadWesley/status/1311168776843546624 – from college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit who seems like he's voting for Trump.

I would like to second Nick's question. There is a lot of concern from my personal bubble of friends that we're not showing up for the ground game (a "signage gap" as one of my friends put it, no door knocking (couldn't there be some way to do it safely? Seems to work for Doordash), and most importantly voter registration). Would love to know your thoughts.

How concerned should we be about the fact that more new republicans registered in the battleground states than democrats between March-August? In most cases by significant margins: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/trump-s-winning-voter-registration-battle-against-biden-key-states-n1241674

I assume this a function of each parties door knocking policy during a pandemic - but still, yikes!

Dan, the newsletter has been incredible! One thought: would you consider including Facebook-specific posts to share and amplify? I love the debate clips you referenced, but it's hard to know how to best share them on FB (beyond just posting the link)

Thanks for all you're doing!
